Here’s a fun idea to make a heart stamp using a recycled toilet paper roll! You will need an empty toilet paper roll, tape, paper, and paint. Bend the toilet paper roll so it makes a heart shape. Put a long piece of tape around the whole tube. Dip it in some red or pink paint and let the kids stamp away! This heart stamp would make great Valentines day cards or gift tags! source
all you need:
pressed flowers (fine gardening and save-on-crafts both have great flower-pressing resources)
a black and white photo (we printed ours at home with a Canon PIXMA MG7120 printer and MP-101 Matte Photo Paper)
solid wrapping paper
gift wrapping tape
Wrap gift with solid color gift wrap.
Print black & white photo to fit the size of the gift box.
Center photo on top of gift box and use glue to adhere. Be sure no glue is coming out from the sides of the photo. Allow to dry.
Wrap gift box with cellophane wrap, leaving one end open.
Make your selection of dried flowers.
Carefully slide flowers in between the photo and the cellophane wrap. You may need to slightly loosen the cellophane wrap or use a popsicle stick to insert the flowers. Fold and seal cellophane wrap, and adorn gift with twine and a gift tag. source
3 cups unbleached, all-purpose flour 2 teaspoons baking powder 1 cup sugar 2 sticks butter, cold & cut into chunks 1 large egg 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract 1 1/2 teaspoons liquid red food coloring
In a small bowl stir flour and baking powder together. Set aside. Cream butter and sugar together. Stir in egg, extracts and vanilla. Slowly incorporate dry ingredients. Once dough has come together, remove 2/3 of it to a separate bowl. Stir in the red food coloring to the remaining 1/3 of the dough until uniform in color.
Roll red dough out into a 1 inch slab. Cut out heart shapes and stack them together.
Roll remaining regular colored dough out and cover each row of stacked hearts being careful to keep them together. Wrap in plastic and refrigerate 1 hour to overnight.
When ready to bake, preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line baking sheet with parchment paper or silicone baking mat and set aside. Remove cookie dough logs from fridge and slice into 1/2 inch rounds. Place onto prepared baking sheet leaving 1 inch around each cookie. Bake 8-10 minutes or until cookie is barely golden brown on the bottom and isn't shiny. Remove from oven and cool 2 minutes before cooling completely on wire rack.
Serve immediately or store in airtight containers for up to 3 days.
If you’re looking for an easy, chic, and totally unique gift to give to your girlfriends for the holidays, these DIY sequin pillows fit the bill! With a couple of materials and the easiest steps EVER, you’ll be the gift-giving extraordinaire of the year! We chose a few simple, chic designs, but feel free to get creative and design something that is completely personalized…the possibilities are endless!
1. With the pencil, draw a light outline of your design on the pillow
2. Carefully trace the pencil with a layer of tacky glue
3. Gently lay the sequin ribbon on top of the glue, using the scissors to cut pieces of the ribbon so it doesn’t overlap itself too much
4. The glue takes a few minutes to dry, so you can slightly adjust your letters to be in the perfect place in the meantime
5. Use a little extra glue on the ends so the sequin ribbons don’t unravel over time
